GOODBYE ZACCAIA & PAIGE

It’s always sad to say Goodbye to long standing pupils who have been in the school many years. Between these two dancers they have notched up 18yrs of studio classes. With great attendance and most of all a fun attitude, but yet serious about their work. Many performances later from sassy tap routines, mama trios, depressing characters ! Acrobatic team work with hours of rehearsals, le jazz hot duets, National dances and of course those all singing and dancing numbers. A life time of competitions sat in a different venue for most weekends, racks of costumes, make up boxes oh and the props! Yes the props.... !! road trips, hotels and those serious times ... hour long exams. Both students have had some great successes enjoying the highlights proving hard work can pay off. But despite the exciting times, there has and always will be disappointments in the art of dance. But these girls are true grafters and keep going. There are so many fond, funny, and actually comical stories they can share from their time at ads, we hope their memories are lasting. So a bitter sweet GOODBYE Zaccaia and Paige you will be missed dearly at Ads. Congratulations on your new beginnings for September Zaccaia who is going to Urdang London to study a BA (Hons) 3yr Musical Theatre and dance course. Paige joining Bird College of Performing Arts Sidcup Kent for again the 3yr BA(Hons) Musical Theatre course. Always remember our Ads message ‘Be yourself and go be you’ you have the wings now go fly.

TEACHING EXAM SUCCESS

It’s not easy doing teaching exams for dance. So many hours are spent studying behind the scenes. So a massive congratulations to Beverley and Katheryn who have both been successful in passing Unit 2 - Technique and syllabus Knowledge for their chosen genre of dance, Ballet of the Theatre Branch. For those who don’t know about how to be qualified for teaching dance, these students and many others have had to pass -
Students teachers part 1 grades below grade 3.
Students teachers grade 3 to 5
Plus an Anatomy paper
This unit 2 which was a two hour exam each and a file like a boeing jumbo jet on the Intermediate syllabus. Plus musical arrangements and discussions. It’s not over yet there is on the horizon
another part to come soon as the practical. Plus these ladies have been pupils of Ads since childhood and have also taken all grades up to advanced level before attacking these exams. Just a thought of how much real time goes into the art of being a teacher. 5 exams ! and that’s just for one subject.
Thank you Maddi and Aimee too for demonstrating the pointe work section and giving up your free time . You both looked beautiful.
🍾🍾 Huge Well Done B and K 🍾🍾
Relax and enjoy your summer.

EX PUPIL BEN RADCLIFFE

Update on ex pupil Ben Radcliffe's journey. Ben danced in all the competitions for Ads and what a talent he had from acting, singing, gym and tap championships to name a few. He went into the Uk Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and then into the West End in Oliver. From there he went to Sylvia Young Theatre School on a full scholarship. At 16 he was the only boy to be given a scholarship for PA at Hurtwood House. It's here while performing in their show he was spotted by an agent and in 6wks was signed by Disney for the lead role in a teens series called Evermoor Chronicles playing the lead role "Iggy" How exciting Ben, all the best from Ads. Such a lovely lad too.
